• Switch on your laptop or desktop.
• Select the Settings label from the Start menu pop-up, followed by the selection of Control panel.
• Switch from Category View to Detailed View. Select the Internet option from the Control Panel window.
• Select the Fonts label on the standard General tab.
• Select the Western option from Character Sets. Select the Set as Default option and then select the OK option.
• Launch the Internet properties menu. Select the Delete Files option from the General tab. Click OK twice to bring the changes in effect.
• Either go in for installing Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, or for uninstalling and reinstalling the version you already have.
Repair Web View-based Script Errors
• Launch the Start menu by clicking on the start icon, located in the bottom left corner of the home screen.
• Select Windows Explorer option from the Start menu pop up.
• Find the folders and files that are causing script errors to appear.
• Select the option View from the Menu Bar. Click on the Customize This Folder option. After selecting the Customize This Folder option, select the Remove Customization option.
• Click on Next, and then on Finish to exit.
• Try to reinstall Windows 98 if script error issues persist, while viewing Windows folders to refresh the Windows Desktop Update feature.
